The Rebel Dinner

Rebel dinner update

Due to the popular demand for places at The Rebel Dinner, the restaurant in question are unable to take our reservation without taking a deposit payment. Taking into account the amount of work that would be involved in organising this (taking payments, keeping track of who has paid and who is in attendance on the night) the only way I could do this would be through a system like ‘EventBrite’ which would mean people would end up paying extra to cover the payment fees included.

Sadly, due to this, I will not be making a list for attendees, instead I think it would be best if those wishing to attend headed to the same restaurant and ate together that way, knowing that they don’t have to eat alone.

Originally I was going to book out tables at Red Hot World Buffet which is one of the largest ‘all you can eat’ restaurants in the city of Manchester. It has 300 dishes from a range of cuisines – Indian, Italian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Japanese and English. You can find the  menus (and directions and other info) here.

Sorry to have started organising this only to then not be able to finish it. I don’t see how else this could really work. See you there though!

What is the Rebel Dinner?

At the first QED conference in February 2011 I organized a meet-up for those of us attending QED who couldn’t attend the Gala dinner. I booked out a load of tables at a nearby all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet. It was a great way to spend the evening before heading back to the conference venue for the evening’s entertainment.

This year I am doing the same, only this time it will be at a larger ‘all-you-can-eat’ buffet restaurant with a wider range of dishes so that we can fit more people in. If you want to attend fill in the form below and you will be added to the list.

Either fill in the form below OR RSVP on Facebook don’t do both.

The cutoff date will be one week prior to QED so that a final reservation number can be given to the restaurant.

Those attending (as of October 3rd)
If you are not listed, or are listed incorrectly let me know by leaving a comment (I wont publish the comment, but I will be able to see it)

Thanks Hayley for trying to organise something. You are a star!

Even though I appreciate that numbers prevent a formal booking, I presume they’re going to get a heads up that hordes of hungry skeptics are going to descend on them!
