Donate & Win!

Posted on: October 3, 2011

photo of bandsOver the weekend I have been asking people to donate to help people on a low income get to the QED conference in Manchester in March 2012. So far, through the generosity of others, we’ve raised enough to pay for a couple of tickets, which is awesome!

The lovely guys at Skeptic Bros have just gotten in touch to make a donation of a different kind…

The next ten people to donate over £10 will each get a glow-in-the-dark Placebo Band as a thank you! Help a skeptic get to QED, feel good doing so, and look cool as a result. WIN!

How are you deciding who gets the free tickets etc. Their scepticism in relation to their lack of income?. I’m all in favour for people going to QED who can’t afford it and if I could I’d contribute a few grand but as it is I’m as skint as the next person. I’d send Bob on goodwill alone but goodwill doesn’t pay for tickets. I think you’re doing a great job and if we get a few people like Bob to the conference then my few quid will have counted in some small way.

[…] need a free ticket? Consider donating what you can to help others go. The next few people to donate over £10 win a Glow in the dark Placebo Band.  […]

I like the idea of placebo bands 🙂 I was weary of buying stability bands for fun as it’d give the companies that make them more profit.
